Shadowed

The darkness that binds is a frightening black
It hides in your mind, it lurks way in back
It comes when you sleep and escapes when you cry
It's your strength and your weakness, it lives till you die.

The light that shines is a comforting white
The kind of glow that's smile is bright
It shares your love and it hides your pain
Like a blanket away from a cold winter rain.

The fire within is a rage burning red
It's heated intensity leaves enemies dead
It's the impulsive jerk on a shaky gray gun
That feels no regret when the killing is done.

The ice inside is release swimming in blue
It's rare arrivals unveil heaven for you
It's the hand that reaches for your desperate soul
When life inside is not part of this whole.
