Flight of the Night

Tranquil moonlight creeping upstairs
Beckoning whoever dares
The white glow slinking, softly, slowly,
Silently, solemnly signaling to me.

Feet planted in the grass,
Worry rising, thin like glass
Bravery smashing, anxiety breaking
My starry night's departure making.

By the light of the silver sky
My face outreaching, inhaling, high
Soaring, sailing through the night
Chilly, breezy, silky flight

Eyes shut tight, arms extending
Space exploring, body bending
Curiosity peaking, fear withdrawn
Further flying, escaping dawn.
